SUNDAY CONVERSATION: A Prayer for Wisdom and Revelation
As action-oriented as he was, the Apostle Paul spent a lot of time in prayer, something a lot of folks in our contemporary culture view as somewhat passive. Paul would probably laugh (more like snort) at that suggestion because prayer was so elemental to all he was challenged to do and all that he accomplished, which was a tremendous amount. In this particular prayer, his concern and petition was that his readers would have the “spiritual eyes and ears” to discern the depth and significance of the grace they had been given by God through Jesus Christ. If they missed this, they would be left with a very superficial and powerless religion, something for which he had no taste.
See the Connection Points page for information on dates and times of the other occasions in which we experience community.
